Latest Updates from Our Project:

It's over!.... Or is it?
over 1 year ago – Fri, Nov 08, 2024 at 11:46:49 PM

Hey there,

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you and offer congratulations to every single backer. This has been our most successful campaign to date and you have been wonderful company along the journey.

Now, I know many of you were disappointed about not hitting the printed edge stretch goal -- especially as we came soooooo close -- but do not despair. There is still a path to making this happen!

Next week, I will open late pledges. These will remain open for a few weeks and if I combine the regular and early pledges, I'm certain we will smash that stretch goal. So, hold on to that printed edges dream. I really think it is going to happen.

I'm taking a few days out from the updates now as I am preparing for three conventions before the end of the year. I will check in daily and answer questions / comments, so please keep them coming.

In the meantime, have a lovely weekend!

Tim (& Simon)

Here we are... The final hours
over 1 year ago – Fri, Nov 08, 2024 at 04:06:41 AM

Hey there,

So, this is it. We are in the last few hours of our Wires in The Woods campaign.

This is the last update I will send this side of everything closing.

Firstly, I want to thank every single one of you who backed and/or posted something about our project. You really have helped us in the creation of something very special. There's still time to back if you haven't already done so.

I also want to thank Simon for his amazing artwork which provided the inspiration for this game. I know this is his first experience of crowdfunding and, though I have being doing much of the posting on both our behalfs, I know how much he has enjoyed seeing the updates and feedback from all of you.

In other news, Simon and I have discussed making something else together, so watch this space. Could there be a Pacific Northwest trilogy? Have I said too much? Don't I always?

Once again, thank you to everyone from both of us and, in case you do run into either of us at cons or elsewhere in the wild, here's a handy diagram from one of the rare occassions we are in the same space. It should help you distinguish us :)

See you on the other side!

A road map for the next 48 hours and beyond
over 1 year ago – Thu, Nov 07, 2024 at 02:31:48 AM

Hey there,

We are in the final hours of our campaign, and this is my penultimate email this side of the closing bell.

I thought I'd give you an idea of what to expect over the coming weeks as we work to get Wires in The Woods into your hands.

First up, Simon and I will be having a couple of weeks to decompress. I'll then be heading to Dragonmeet in London and on to Pax Unplugged in Philadelphia, so please do come find me and say hi if you can make it to either.

At the end of November, we will open the surveys which will allow you to fill in your shipping details and add any extra items you may want to pick up. We will also add a few late pledge options. This will run through to January when we need to finalise our production orders for all of the items required. You will still be able to update your shipping address after this date and before we ship.

During this period, Simon and I will be working on finalising layouts, getting everything proofread and checked with a view to having beta PDFs out in Feburary or March. Around this time we will also arrange shipping payments and contact retailers for their final orders.

We will likely have a two week window to catch any issues that your eagle-eyes spot and then it's out to print.

Our goal would be to begin fulfilling late March

These dates can shift either way depending on how realistic our suppliers are about their delivery times. As always, you can expect plenty of updates from me during the process so you know how things are proceeding.

Also, whilst Simon and I are working on bringing everything together, here's a list of the wonderful Critical Kit people who will be working hard behind the scenes to get your things to you:

  • Sarah (Operations Manager) will be dealing any enquiries about fulfilment.
  • Josh (Distribution Manager) will be making sure all your stuff gets to you.
  • Chrissy (Proofreader) will be fixing all my silly mistakes.

I just wanted to give them all a mention as they are an invaluable part of our little team and I wouldn't be able to do this without them... and you, of course.

Once again, thank you for making this a wonderful campaign. I'll be back with one email prior to the end of the campaign and then one brief one afterwards to say another thank you.

Until then, take care.

Tim (also writing on behalf of Simon).

Let's settle this dice thing... Have all three colours!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Nov 06, 2024 at 03:44:47 AM

Hey there,

Today, I come bearing gifts (again)!

I've been considering the various comments and questions we've had about being able to choose the colours for the d6 in your two-pack. I came to the conclusion that the easiest way to resolve this was to give you all three instead.

That's right: all the dice packs, whether purchased as add-ons, or as part of a reward will now contain all three dice at no extra cost.

We still have just over two days left on our campaign, which means there is a chance we could hit another stretch goal, but just in case we don't I wanted to offer something as a thank you for all the support that has flowed into Wires in The Woods.

If you would like the three piece dice set, you can grab them in the Upcycler or Wanderlust pledge levels OR as add-ons. If you have already pledged or added them, they will automatically be upgraded, so you don't need to do anything.

In the face of every difficulty that surrounds us in the world at the moment, I wish you the best and I hope I can brighten your day with my updates and games.

Tim (& Simon who is über busy making comics!)

AMA... give us your feedback + Be Like a Crow Playing Cards.
over 1 year ago – Tue, Nov 05, 2024 at 09:29:53 AM

Hey there,

We are on the home stretch now, with just under 3 days left on the campaign. As always, thank you for making it so much fun and for all your wonderful feedback and comments.

On that note, I'm around all evening (and tomorrow) to answer questions and read your two cents. Please do add anything you want to ask or say in the comments below and I will respond to every single one!

As an example, a few users have asked us for the official Be Like a Crow playing cards to be available as an add-on option. Well, today I am happy to say that I have made that happen.

You can now get the deck for £12 during the pledge process. This deck contains 17 unique pieces of corvid artwork across the court cards and jokers. The cards are manufactured in the UK by Ivory on Sureslip 310gsm Textured Black Cored Playing Card Board, making them handle beautifully whether for play or cardistry. They also come in an abstract crow wing tuck box.

We always print these cards in limited runs, so it's a great opportunity to get hold of them.

That's all for this update but, once again, thank you for all your kind words and support. Don't forget that you can continue the conversation in our Discord Channel.

Have a lovely rest of the day and I will be back soon.

Tim (& Simon).
