50k stretch goal hit! Forager miniatures for all!!!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 11:13:01 PM

Hey there,

I woke up to the news that we'd hit our 50k stretch goal, so thank you to everyone who has backed and/or spread the word.

Every backer now receives STL files of the forager miniatures so they can 3D print their own. There are five in total: Scamper (featured in our Quick Start), Burrow, Trample, Swoop and Scurry). I introduced you to them all in the previous update.

But we're not done. From here on, the stretch goals get chunkier. At 70k, Simon is adding background artwork to all 5 pieces of art in the print pack. That stands for both physical and digital copies, so everyone will see this beautiful level of detail added to their rewards.

Here's an example of Simon's art with full backgrounds:

That's all for this update. Once again, thank you to everyone for showing us so much love and support. And remember, if you aren't in a position to support Wires in The Woods financially, tell a friend! You can always borrow their copy ;)

Hasta la proxima!

Meet the trash foragers. Which one are you?
over 1 year ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 12:27:22 PM

Hey there,

Now we are over 24 hours into our campaign, the foragers' curiosity is quelling their shyness. They are ready to meet you. But which forager is most like you? There's a poll attached to this update so you can let us know.

Here they all are, again. Below the image is a brief description of each one

  • Scamper is fleet of foot, but what they gain in dexterity occassionally comes at the cost of impatience.
  • Trample is strong and dependable, but their little legs and the weight of all that hair slows them down.
  • Swoop has the advantage of flight, as well as a great sense of hearing and smell. However, often with their head literally in the clouds, they can miss some important details.
  • Burrow is a great investigator and can find things that others often miss. But spending much time with their head in the ground makes them less social than other foragers.
  • Scurry are team players. They can harness strength in numbers when foraging and solving problems. They do have a reputation for wandering off and getting lost, though.

Do any of those sound like you? Let us know in the poll, which one calls to you. Or, why not make up your own forager and tell us about them in the comments?

Now is also a good time to remind you that there is less than 24 hours left to pledge if you want to receive a signed bookplate in your reward.

Finally, we are almost at the 50k mark. This means in the next few hours we are likely to pass the stretch goal that gives all backers a free set of STL files to 3D print their own minis!

That's all for this update, but please do tell your friends about our game if you think they might like it. It's your support that helps us bring things like this to the world.

Until next time!

30k Stretch goal reached! All backers get forager prints!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 12:13:20 AM

Hey there,

While I was sleeping, our wonderful supporters pushed us over the 30k mark! This means everyone gets a five pieces of art depicting each playable forager. Physical backers will receive a6 prints on recycled paper. Digital backers will receive high quality PDFs.

Our next stop is 50k which sees the STL files for the minis added to every reward (physical and digital)!

I'm also going to be running a poll today, part of our commitment to involve backers in the process of making this project even better than it already is. Watch out for that and get involved. Your input matters.

That's all for now. I'll be back with another update soon.

Have a wonderful day.

20k Stretch goal reached! All backers get some art!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 08, 2024 at 12:28:12 PM

Hey there,

We're barely six hours into our campaign and we have hit the first stretch goal. This means all backers will receive the cover art from the book. Physical backers will receive a print and digital backers receive a PDF.

That means we are now focussing on our next goal which introduces more art. At 30k (which we might even hit within 24 hours!) all backers will receive a set of 5 PDF art pieces featured each one of the foragers. If we add any more foragers as a result of some yet unrevealed stretch goals (hint, hint), we will also add them to this stretch goal automatically.

Thank you so much for all of this love for the project.

I'm heading to bed now, but I'll be back early doors with more updates.

THANK YOU! Wires in the Woods is funded in under 90 minutes!!!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 08, 2024 at 08:29:24 AM

Hey there,

We did it! Wires in The Woods is a project that both Simon and myself have put so much into and we are both so thankful to every single person who has backed the project and put their trust in our joint creativity.

If you have already backed, thank you! If not, you can back anytime within the next 31 days, but we do have a special offer for the first 48 hours.

These bookplates will only be rewarded to physical backers in the frst 48 hours and they will be hand signed!

This game is going to be like nothing you have seen before and we can't wait for you to see what we have to offer. And, it's thanks to your support that we can bring this into the world.

Our next milestone is the 20k stretch goal where every digital or physical backer receives a special piece of artwork based on the book cover.

I can't wait to see how far we can take this project and how much more we can add to it.

Hasta la proxima!
